Viewers around the world tuned in to MSNBC host Rachel Maddow’s penetrating examination of President Donald Trump’s recently released tax returns. All anti-Trump Americans – both Democrat and Never Trump Republicans – waited, their bodies thrumming with barely contained anticipation. It was to be a true victory; it was to be the downfall of the Don.
Except, as we all now know, it wasn’t.
As the rest of the world either wept in anguish, breathed a sigh of relief, or laughed hysterically, one man saw through the deception. Only he had the vision to see through the mist of Ms. Maddow’s smokescreen. While everyone else rushed to create memes and skits to capitalize on the fall of Rachel Maddow’s career, Bill Kristol’s tweet stood firm as a bastion of truth under the onslaught of insanity.
Are we sure Maddow isn’t a double agent, turned somehow by Bannon? Innocuous tax returns replace horrible CBO score as topic of discussion.

Though he gallantly provided a point of refuge for the truth, none were willing to seek the shelter. Instead, Mr. Kristol saw his efforts mocked and ridiculed. Those who did not offer him aluminum-foil hats or suggest psychiatric help derided him for not making the connection to Russia as if only Russia would be interested in turning an American.
Did Steve Bannon, who is apparently the real spymaster of the Trump administration according to Kristol, get to Rachel Maddow and turn her cloak? If Mr. Kristol’s investigation is blocked, we may never know. Ms. Maddow’s performance surely proves that she has changed sides, does it not? Would such a prominent journalist as Rachel Maddow really engineer her own downfall otherwise?
Bill Kristol may have been the only man to possess the journalistic senses to sniff out Ms. Maddow’s diabolical move to support President Trump, but he shall not stand alone against the masses, duped by her cunning duplicity.
While this relentless mocking of Kristol is obviously satire, his tweet, sadly, was not — yet another example of just how far the left will go in order to force their narrative. In Kristol’s mind, it’s not possible that Rachel Maddow was so blinded by her own hatred that she made an absolute idiot of herself on TV, so he made up a new story. We, however, will stick to the facts. Sorry, Bill.
